Das Immunologische Labor (Leitung: Prof. WH Boehncke) an der Universitäts-Hautklinik Frankfurt/Main sucht ab dem 1.10.10

(TV-L 13/2 für zwei Jahre mit Option auf Verländerung)

Ein Schwerpunkt unserer Arbeitsgruppe ist die Pathogenese chronischer Entzündung, speziell der daraus resultierenden kardiovaskulären Komplikationen. Dabei dient die Psoriasis (Schuppenflechte) als Modell (u.a. Boehncke WH et al. BMJ 2010, Schön MP und Boehncke NEJM 2005). Diese häufige und schwere Hautkrankheit erhöht das Risiko für Herzinfarkt und Schlaganfall der Betroffenen dramatisch.
Wir untersuchen die zugrunde liegenden Pathomechanismen auf zellbiologischer und immunologischer Ebene.

Das Projekt wird in enger Kooperation mit den Entwicklungsabteilungen mehrerer großer forschender pharmazeutischer Unternehmen durchgeführt. Ziele sind u.a. die Aufklärung der Wirkmechanismen innovativer Therapeutika (Biologika und small molecule inhibitors) sowie die Identifikation neuer therapeutischer targets.

Wir suchen engagierte Bewerber mit einem Abschluß in Biologie, Biochemie oder einer verwandten Disziplin, Erfahrung mit zell- und molekularbiologischen Methoden, sowie Interesse an Aspekten der Signaltransduktion und translationaler Forschung.

Das Immunologische Labor zeichnet sich durch ein hohes Maß an Interdisziplinarität aus. Die medizinische Fakultät mit ihrem Exzellenzcluster und einem neuen Sonderforschungsbereich (SFB 834) legt besonderen Wert auf Forschung zum Themenkomplex kardiovaskulärer Erkrankungen. Erfolgreichen Doktoranden bieten sich gute berufliche Perspektiven, nicht zuletzt aufgrund der engen Kooperation des Labors mit forschenden pharmazeutischen Unternehmen.
