Our lab is investigating the regulation and underlying mechanisms of the ribosomal RNA processing in yeast and mammalian cells.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a good background in molecular biology, who is open to new challenges and who would enjoy working in a small team on one of the following topics:
the role of RNA helicases and snoRNAs in ribosome biogenesis
post-translational modifications in the regulation of ribosome synthesis
quantitative analyses and mathematical modelling of the ribosomal RNA processing.
We use yeast genetics, cell and molecular biology and RNA techniques, RNA-protein complex purifications, quantitative biology approaches and mass-spec.
The position is available from September 2010.
